What’s Your Prefered Brightness Level?

Asus Eee

I’ve been running my Eee mostly on 30% brightness level. I’m not too fond of screens that are very bright. I feel I’d be straining my eyes more, and I fear that I’d be wearing out my LCD’s LED faster if it’s always on full. Of course there’s the issue of battery life, but with the Asus Eee using LED rather than fluorescent lamps for illumination, I think this would be just a small issue.

I just increase brightness to full or near-full when the need arises, such as when using my Eee in daylight outdoors (very rare cases) or when I’m using it amid glare (near windows or with very bright bulbs overhead).

What’s your brightness preference?

I usually leave it at 100% under normal indoor/outdoor lighting conditions (i.e. fluorescent overhead) and 40-50% in a dark room.

lowest or one step upper indoor.

I wouldn’t be too concerned about your LED backlight life. Most LED’s now days are rated for 100,000hrs, which is just shy of 12yrs, always on 24hrs a day 7 days a week. And I doubt anyone would be using the same laptop for 12yrs.

I always set monitor brightness for my eee and desktop at the lowest level as long as the colors are maintained.

I’m the same. I have mine at about 30% brightness since most of the time, I’m using the eee in the comforts of my bed with the TV as my only light in the room. But it works even in well-lit rooms and out and about and stuff. It only goes full brightness in full sunlight.

It depends what I do. Normally lower or little bit higher than that. If I really have to do something then it will be 100%
