I just got my ASUS EEE, the 8G version… came standard with 1gig of ram, but I bumped it to 2gigs. Never ran it with 1gig… got it, took it out of the box, swapped out the RAM, and booted up.

i dont think u need those things to upgrade the memory. a simple cutter blade can do!

Noticable speed in normal use, with me usually having a Firefox window with about 10 to 20 tabs open, running gFTP, two terminal sessions, and file manager.

My usual memory consumption is in the 500 to 700 MB range, so 1GB is comfortable enough.

In short, no lags when switching applications or desktops.

Hi. My friend had his Asus EEE PC’s RAM upgraded to 1GB in Thinking Tools Cebu for P1,100 but he first called Banbros, the distributor, and was told that the warranty will not be affected by the removal of the sticker for the memory upgrade.
