For those willing to give their aging Eee PC 901s another lease at life, you can upgrade your favorite netbooks with a new SSD. Runcore Pro IV Light mini-SATA SSDs have 16GB, 32GB and 64GB iterations.

Two videos have been uploaded on YouTube by user 1walkgirl showing the Runcore Pro IV Light miniSATA SSD successfully working on the Eee PC 901. The first video gives a general idea of the speed, and the second video shows a Crystal diskmark test and the results.

Fairly good result, however the sequential write speeds are disappointing, but the read and random 4K readings for small files is excellent.
Below are my CrystaDiskMark results from my Asus EEE PC 1005HA, with 250GB hard drive. Generally I experience slow waiting times, especially if a number of programs are open at once and this is where the SSD drives shine.
Asus EEE PC 1005HA – 250GB Hard Drive results
*Sequential read: 62 mb/s, write: 60 mb/s
*Random read 512k: 26 mb/s, write: 30 mb/s
*Random read 4k: 0.331, write: 0.932 mb/s
