96% of netbooks are running Windows – Microsoft

According to Microsoft, 96% of netbooks are running Windows. Now the reason people are going for Windows when Linux is around and in many cases, is almost as easy to use, according to Microsoft is that:

  • It’s easier to set up, easier to use, and easier to maintain
  • It just works with people’s stuff
  • There’s more choice

I don’t know, really. I like Linux myself, and I’d spend hours just modifying things in the various distros I installed in my Eee, and I enjoyed it. Eventually I switched to Windows because I needed to do less tweaking/hacking and do more working. I can understand why people like Windows, but I’m also disappointed why Linux has been lagging in the netbook race.

What do you guys think?

So, if the Republicans told you they won the presidential race you’d believe them too?

The stats they quote refute the vendors reporting so, like Mark Twain said, there are lies, damned lies and statistics.

Nah!! I think they are right!! Most people are using windows.

How many have you see using Linux?? Everyone uses it for the first few days and then move into using Windows!!

While most people may be using Windows, I think 96% is probably inflated. I have only seen one other eeePC in the wild and it was running Windows. My eeePC has a dual OS, XP and Ubuntu. 96% of the time I’m running Ubuntu.

As you can probably guess, more experience with jury trials is better than less. It is where parties can not agree and Court proceedings are issued then the time for completing matters is extended.
