I honestly am torn with this. On one hand, it looks fantastic. On the other hand, this is going to be hard to use. Hours of frustrated playing with an iPod touch has left me with the realization that stubby fingers don’t go well with touch screens. Asus is asking for suggestions on how to improve this concept. I say we help them.

The Eee Box B208 features a 1.6GHz Intel Atom 330 CPU, which is the first dual core model in the Atom line. The computer also features ATI Radeon HD 4350 series graphics with 256MB of video memory and an HDMI output.
The Eee Box B208 also has 1GB of RAM, and hard drive options of 160GB, 250G, or 320GB. It includes 4 USB ports, 802.11b/g/n WiFI, an Ethernet jack, a multi-format card reader, a remote control, and a built in battery that can be used as an uninterruptible power supply option in the case of a power outage.
Now this is an Eee that I really want.

Liliputing reports that netbook market share is coming down. Just check out what they have to say:
A year and a half ago you would have been hard pressed to find a netbook (defined as a 10 inch or small mini-laptop for around $400) that came with Windows XP. The original Asus Eee PC 701, Everex Cloudbook, and other early netbooks all ran Linux. Today, 90% of all mini-laptops sold in the US are running Windows. That’s according to a report from NPD Group that looked at netbook sales in November, December, and January.

Intel has officially announced the launch of its Z5xx line of processors. We’ve already seen a few devices like the Dell Inspiron Mini 12 and Sony Vaio P as well as some upcoming netbooks from MSI and Asus that make use of the Intel Atom Z520 and Z530 processors. Those chips run at speeds between 1.3GHz and 1.6GHz, have 512KB of L2 Cache, and 533MHz FSB speeds. But Intel has also unveiled a lower power Intel Atom Z510 chip that will run at 1.1GHz with a 400MHz FSB speed and 512KB of L2 cache.

The mini-laptop, formerly known as the Eee PC Shell almost looks more like an MSI netbook than an Asus product. Like MSI’s Wind series, the lid on the Eee PC 1000HA slips down behind the case of the computer when you open it up, giving the computer a slightly smaller profile.
The new Asus netbook is about as thin and light as the high end Eee PC S101, but word on the street is that it will carry a lower price tag.
Asus is reportedly working on a new thin and light netbook that will be called the Eee PC Shell. …The Shell will have a 10.1 inch display, and higher specs than the Eee PC S101. It will reportedly also have better battery life, and be easier to carry. No, I have no idea what that last bit means either.
