Netbooks are popular these days because of their small size light weight, easy to use and reliable performance. They are used to handle daily tasks like typing, watching pictures, videos, education, games etc. Some of the very popular netbooks are, Sony Vaio Netbook, Acer Aspire One, Asus Eee PC and Dell Mini 10.

At their inception in late 2007, as smaller notebooks optimized for low weight and low cost Netbooks featuring smaller screens and keyboards was introduced, with offered reduced computing power when compared to a full-sized laptop. In the short period since their appearance, Netbooks have grown in size and features, now converging with new smaller, lighter notebooks and sub notebooks. 1. Keep in mind it is a small Netbook. Use the Netbook with little care because it is more delicate than laptop or a computer and is in small size.
2. Do not use Netbook as a primary computer. One should not sue it as a primary computer working for longer hours since it is designed for small and medium tasks.
3. Do not use antivirus (Use Ccleaner Instead). Since antivirus is a resource consuming software and Netbook has limited resources, so antivirus can slow down the speed of the Netbook.
4. Close down unnecessary Services. One can free some resources on Netbook by closing some unnecessary Services. To close any service, Lauch task manager by pressing ctrl – alt – delete and then click on task manager then click on services. Right click on the services you want to close and click end task.
5. Check CPU and Memory Usage. Checking CPU and Memory usage on regular interval can give you a quick look on how much the processor and memory is being used. If the available ram is low then one can increase the performance of Netbook by increasing the page file size.
6. Do not install Games and heavy softwares. Netbook is not designed for playing games or using softwares like visual studio. Instead it is designed for browsing, messaging, blogging, chatting and other office work. So one can refrain from installing games or heavy software on Netbook. 7. Try to use Linux. Linux is more secure as compare to windows therefore using Linux rather than windows on Netbook is a better approach. 8. Keep your files and folders organized. Always keep your files and folders manage. Create a separate partition for your data rather than using C drive or the Drive in which OS is installed. Before installing software firstly create a folder with the name of software and then install software on that folder.
9. Adjust Windows XP for best Performance. Default theme of Windows XP is resource consuming. Thus it is better if uses a classic theme and adjusts Windows XP for best performance.
